The Oregon EMS Conference is an annual event. Each year it needs to deliver and update information about conference location, dates, registration, and lodging. However, no one on the staff had the knowledge required to maintain a traditional website.
The Solution
The Oregon EMS Conference website is built on Wordpress so that it can be easily updated by anyone who has basic office software skills.

The Problem
Naomi is an artist, writer, and story-teller. She had a functioning site, but was frustrated by how difficult it was, if not impossible, to change and update the site. Whenever she wanted to make any significant update to the site, she would be required to ask or hire someone to do it for her. Because of this, the site was rarely updated and information on the site became dated.
The Solution
The answer was to rebuild her site using an open-source content management system (CMS). Since Naomi wanted considerable control and functionality (such as a shopping cart and image galleries) Joomla was chosen. Naomi provided a new site design from which a Joomla site template was built and free open-source components were added to Naomi's Joomla installation. Naomi is now able to add, edit, and remove content through Joomla's backend from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.
